Annie Ruth Wimberly (Williams), born to the late Posiea Blunt Williams and Sis Lakes in Burke County, Ga. She was one of nine children. Annie was educated in public school in Sardis, Georgia. Annie was employed with the Holiday Inn Hotel Chain in the Hospitality Department for 20 years. She retired as a supervisor. In 1980 she met the love of her life Carl Lee Wimberly and married in 1981. To this union they became loving partners of six children.
