Celestine
Williams (Johnson)

Celestine Williams born in Waycross, Georgia to Horace and Virginia Johnson. She graduated from Center High School in 1959 as the Valedictorian of her class. Celestine attended


Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Bch, Florida and earned her Bachelor of Science in Math and Chemistry. She continued her post graduate studies at Florida State University and North Carolina Central University


While attending college she met and married Joe Williams, Jr. To this union came two children Joe and Vircel. In 1960, she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Celestine began her teaching career at Dunbar High School in Fort Meyers. She taught 14 years in Lee County School System before starting her own business as the owner of/operator of The Sunshine Leanings Center. After twenty-five years she retired in 2003. After retirement, traveling and vacationing with her family was a priority until her health began to fail.
