Clara Mae
Wimberly (Frazier)

MAY 17, 1919 - JUN 24, 2001

Clara Mae Wimberly was the daughter of Frank and Rosa Bell Frazier. She was born in Cochran, Blakely County, Georgia, into a devout Christian home. Early in life, she learned her personal path of duty and followed it with selflessness and dedication.


On September 7, 1935, she was united in holy matrimony with Johnnie Wimberly. To this union, eleven children were born. She lived happily with Johnnie until his passing.

The Beachcomber/Best Western employed her as a dedicated and industrious worker for over 40 years.


Clara was a faithful member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church since its inception in 1946 under the leadership of Rev. D. V. Miller, continuing under Emeritus Dr. Robert W. Williams and Dr. Robert C. Stanley.


She was an active member of the #1 Ushers Board, the Home Mission Society, the Kitchen Committee, the King and Queen Senior Bible Class, and served as a Kindergarten Instructor.

Additionally, Clara was a proud member of the Heroines of Jericho, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Saba Court Daughters of Isis.


Clara was a member of the Heroine’s of Jerrico, Eastern Star, Saba Court Daughters of Isis.
